Fremont Peak
Details
Northeast of Boron on the east side of the 395 is a rocky peak that sticks out from the desert floor. I attempted to climb this peak many years ago when I first started hiking but turned around when I ran into a small gorge. Given that I am a far better hiker now and that this is a pretty simple climb compared to what I've been doing the past couple years, I thought I'd return and cross this off my list.
The actual climb up to the peak will be very short and most of the mileage will depend on how close I can get to the peak on these dirt roads. While short, the climb should be a fun and tiring rock scramble to the summit. Bring gloves.
Take the 395 to Fremont Peak road (dirt road) and head east!
