TIDBITS OF INFORMATION: Canyon Lake is one of the four lakes created by dams on the Salt River. The others are Roosevelt Lake, Apache Lake and Saguaro Lake. Canyon Lake is the smallest of the four, but probably the most picturesque. Unusual rock formations, scenic red rock canyon walls combine desert flora create its southwestern natural beauty. Hidden coves that peek out around every turn are great for fishing. Whether you launch your own boat or rent one at the marina, the lake waters are ideal for kayaking, water-skiing, jet skiing, or just leisure sightseeing
TO BRING: WATER (2 plus Liters) (Electrolytes) food/snacks, hat and sunscreen, camera/phone, dress appropriately layered clothing for changing weather conditions, it is often a bit cool, and windier, up top, especially on our second hike overlooking Canyon Lake.
Due to the nature of these hikes, involving some off trailing and no signed marked trails, it is recommended that we keep hikers closer together. We will stop at different locations to assure we have everybody, but if you are ahead of the hike leaders, you are on your own.

VERY IMPORTANT: The pullout and parking area is just dirt and loose gravel. Manageable by most any vehicle, it is just off the road. Please if you have a high clearance vehicle it would be nice to go farther down the dirt road to allow other cars more space to park nearer the front entrance to this small parking area.
