AND... Yes, bring something to swim in the water is amazing!

Fossil Creek is one of Arizona's natural wonders. Federally designated as a "Wild and Scenic" River, this spring-fed creek flows at an impressive rate of over 20,000 gallons per minute. The water is heavily laden with calcium and other minerals, giving it an unbelievable turquoise color, and also creating travertine pools and formations along its banks. The springs are technically "hot springs," where the water that feeds the creek emerges at a constant 70 degrees year-round. Depending on the season, the water may be cooler or warmer by the time it reaches the waterfall at the terminus of the trail.

Information on Flume Road Trail:
Distance: 8.9mi +/-
Elevation Gain: 1,300ft +/-
Out & Back
Estimated time 5 hrs +/-
Weather: going to be great close to 80 degrees

The road that leads to the trailhead can be quite bumpy, so it is recommended that you use a high-clearance vehicle. The trail itself starts with a gentle incline up a hill, then runs parallel to a creek where you'll find several pools that are perfect for swimming. The trail eventually reaches a cool rock formation and cave at the end. As there are not many people on this trail, you'll have a high chance of having the place all to yourself.

Lets all meet at the carpool location 7AM for day hikes or overnight adventure:
Carpool Location; Albertsons Parking lot across from McDonald's.
3130 W Carefree Hwy, Phoenix, AZ 85086
From carpool location to trailhead it is about a 2 hour drive and around 90 miles.
