Ecstatic Dance - Glimmers ft. Schrock!

Details

It’s time to GLIMMER UP Pittsburgh!!! What does that mean?!!...

A Glimmer is a SPARK of lived experience that evokes a sense of positivity, joy, safety, well-being - coined by psychotherapist Deb Dana to contrast with triggers and traumatic experiences.
We can orient our systems to notice and CELEBRATE Glimmers, as well as to encode our bodies & nervous systems with Glimmering inputs, affirmations & intentions - a practice I call - Embodied Affirmations.
Let’s Glimmer up together, and through our dance, send to ourselves, and one another, cues of welcome, appreciation, respect, celebration, and joy!

Join us for the Premier Ecstatic Debut of Schrock - Local Sound Artist & Audio Engineer!!

What to expect:

The evening starts with an opening circle led by Ecstatic Dance PGH founder, Tricia Chirumbole, creating a sacred space to set intentions and center ourselves.

We’ll warm up with a live flute Somatic Glimmer Up practice guided by Trish and supported by live flute by Kitty of Kitty Sound Healing.

Next, we flow into a set by Schrock who will be bringing us a hot mix of 140 dubstep and deep house, framed by a soothing intro and altro for a full cathartic wave of energies supporting our free-form movement invitation to come as we are and move as we please!

After we sweat it out, we can rest and integrate together to the soothing sounds of a crystal bowl sound bath by Kitty of Kitty Sound Healing.

What is Ecstatic Dance?

Ecstatic Dance is a freeform, expressive movement practice where participants are invited to dance without choreography, allowing the music to guide them. It offers a unique, judgment-free, all ages, sober space for physical exercise, emotional release, and creative expression. Beyond fitness, it provides a chance to connect deeply with oneself and others, fostering a sense of freedom, grounding, and community.

This night invites you to "Come as you are and move as you please."
