# 1 LocalStack - turbocharge your local dev loops for AWS cloud apps
## What is the session about?
In this session, we provide a hands-on introduction to LocalStack (38k Github stars), a fully functional local AWS cloud stack. With LocalStack, applications can be developed entirely on your local machine, reducing dev&test cycles from minutes to seconds. LocalStack has been around as an open-source project since 2017, but especially in the last 6-12 months (as our team is growing) the pace of innovation has dramatically accelerated. The session will showcase some common patterns and use cases, different settings for local testing and debugging, and will also highlight some of the key integrations that are supported (e.g., Terraform, CDK, Serverless). We'll also cover some exciting new features that were recently released and are currently in the pipeline!

Waldemar Hummer - CTO of LocalStack - the leading platform for cloud dev across local & CI
Waldemar is co-founder and CTO of LocalStack, where he and his team are building the world-leading platform for local AWS cloud development. Prior to founding LocalStack, Waldemar has held several lead engineering and management roles at international corporates, including Atlassian, IBM, and Zurich Insurance.

## What is the session about?
CDK for Terraform enables you to define resources for any Terraform provider with familiar programming languages, such as Typescript, Python, Java, C# or Go.
Let’s dive into what we’ve been up to recently with CDK for Terraform, look at a real-world example, and a brief overview of the road ahead of us.
## Who will present?
Sebastian Korfmann - Terraform CDK @HashiCorp | AWS DevTools Hero | Publishing @cdkweekly
Sebastian is Tech Lead for Terraform CDK at HashiCorp. Recent projects have included a large-scale GraphQL implementation for "XING AG" (now "New Work SE") and a cloud migration of an on-premise microservices platform to Amazon Web Services for "Wer liefert Was? GmbH" (now "Visable GmbH").
