Last month Karan showed us the AWS Security Agent - an agent that reviews designs, audits code, and runs application-specific penetration testing. It sparked a good discussion about where agents actually fit in a real engineering workflow.

This month we follow that thread to the other end of the pipeline: once the code ships, who's on call?

AWS DevOps Agent

Presenters from AWS will walk through the recently released AWS DevOps Agent — an always-on agent for production operations and release management across AWS, multicloud, and on-premises environments.
The session covers:

  • autonomous incident investigation - the agent starts work when the alert fires, correlating telemetry, code, and deployment data to identify root cause
  • mitigation plans - proposed actions, validation steps, and rollback
  • proactive prevention - pattern analysis across historical incidents to close observability and pipeline gaps
  • release management - cross-repository dependency mapping and change-specific test generation, with findings surfaced directly in the pull request

Plus the practical part: how Agent Spaces work, what it takes to register your own toolchain (Datadog, Grafana, Splunk, PagerDuty, GitHub, GitLab, MCP servers), and where the agent's recommendations still need a human in the loop.

I've also been pointing the DevOps Agent at some of our own infrastructure in the lead-up. If it turns up anything worth showing, I'll share what it found — and what it missed.
