Accelerating .NET Modernisation Through a Product Development Lens

Details

Our two speakers for this month's session, Aman Lal and Varun Saxena, both hail from AWS Professional Services. In this presentation, they will explore the journey of modernising .NET on AWS, emphasising how a product development perspective can significantly boost the speed and effectiveness of these transformation projects.

Aman and Varun will briefly touch on concepts like Strangler Fig and Domain Driven Design, talking through their relevance in breaking down large, monolithic codebases, before moving to their primary focus: sharing with you some AWS secret sauce on product engineering, .NET on the AWS platform and stories from the trenches of dealing with legacy systems.

We return to our usual venue this month with refreshments available.

Our Speakers

Aman Lal's tech journey started at 10 with his first "Hello World" program. With a Masters degree from the University of Melbourne, he specialises in DevOps, Application Modernisation, Containers and Authentication Protocols. Aman has a proven track record in platform engineering, integration, cloud, and reliability platforms, and has shifted to the dark side of product engineering in the last few years. He is currently a dedicated Cloud Architect at AWS Professional Services, where he has had the privilege of collaborating with companies like Woodside, BHP, FMG and quite recently, the AWS Control Tower Service team.

Varun Saxena is a cloud architect with 16 years of experience in the industry. From the busy streets of New York City to the stunning landscapes of Australia, Varun has danced through the digital realms of CVS, New York Life, and Intel Inside in the US, leaving his coding footprints (aka, tech debt) behind. Closer to home, Varun has been the secret sauce behind tech triumphs at BHP, Woodside, and FMG. With a firm belief that 'geek' rhymes with 'chic,' Varun specialises in making the complex simple, whether it's cloud-native app wizardry, taming legacy software beasts, understanding product delivery spells, or performing .NET magic tricks on AWS.
