Description: Join us in celebrating AMC Boston's 50th Anniversary in 2025 on the Bay Circuit Trail on May 31st. The Bay Circuit Trail circles Boston in a broad crescent from Kingston Bay to Plum Island, and features a mix of conservation land trails, road walks, and opportunities to see historic sites and neighborhoods at walking speed. We are posting trips covering almost the entire trail on May 31 - together we will try to hike the BCT in a single day!
Join us for 1.5-2 hours for an approximately 2 mile out and back leisurely stroll on the Massachusetts Central Rail trail, which also happens to be on the BCT! We will do the section in Wayland between points R and P on map 7, which can be found at https://www.baycircuit.org/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/BCT_MapBook_Bikes_Nov2024_Map7.pdf .
The route is paved and therefore accessible. This trip is open to everyone, including kids. Kids are welcome to walk, be in the stroller, bike, or scoot on a scooter. If bringing a scooter or bicycle, please make sure to bring a helmet.
Thanks to our partners at Waypoint Adventure , we may have access to a range of manual off-road wheelchairs for free. These are designed to accommodate different body types and sizes and are built for trail use and can make the hike more enjoyable and accessible for participants with mobility needs. If you’re interested in using one, please contact the leaders in advance so we can do our best to coordinate.
For those interested after the walk, we’ll be going to get ice cream afterward.
