The path is through wooded areas with a few stream crossings and a corridor of birches and fields. At Cornwall Bridge, there is a gradual climb up Silver Hill (elev. 1266 ft.), a steep short descent and then crossing Rte. 4 to traverse wide Guinea Brook on stepping stones. Please consider your comfort/experience with water crossings and bring appropriate gear (e.g., extra socks in case you get wet feet, water shoes, poles, etc.) We then will ascend a short, steep hill to the junction of the Mohawk Tr. and continue up to the viewpoint on Breadloaf Mt,. To end, we will descend 0.5 mi. on the Mohawk Trail to cars. Rain or excessive heat cancels; RAIN DATE: June 22. No dogs, please. Brink snacks and plenty of water. REGISTRATION WILL BE LIMITED due to small parking areas at both trailheads (car spotting is required.).
