Description: Discover Northwest Camp: Open House & Leave No Trace Awareness Workshop
Saturday, October 18, 2025
AMC Northwest Camp & Cabin Lightly step into the heart of one of Connecticut’s most ecologically sensitive landscapes. From pristine trails to a thoughtfully preserved cabin, Northwest Camp offers a rare blend of natural beauty and quiet resilience—now open for exploration during peak foliage.
Open House | 1:00–4:00 PM Join Northwest Camp Committee members for a free guided tour of this remarkable property. Learn how its location, biodiversity, and minimal footprint make it a model for low-impact recreation and conservation.
Leave No Trace Awareness Workshop | 10:00 AM Led by Keith Spaar, Chair of the AMC Connecticut Chapter Education Committee This hands-on workshop will equip you with essential skills to protect fragile ecosystems. Discover how small choices—where you walk, what you pack, how you camp—can make a lasting difference.
