Description: An easier 4-mile snowshoe hike over rolling terrain, to a lovely pond, on a less travelled woodland trail. (Red trail and carriage roads). Snowshoes necessary.

Meet at Penwood State Park, first parking lot. The park is 1 mile west of the CT 185/CT 178 junction in Bloomfield, on the north side of CT 185, just across the Simsbury/Bloomfield town line, opposite the entrance to Talcott Mountain State Park. There is a very small brown sign just before the park entrance.
