Description: All hikers must pre-register online. Meet at 8:45 for a prompt 9:00 start to this 6-mile hike to Mile of Ledges (multiple scrambles and squeezes), Tory Den (a hideout during the Revolution) and then an easy hike to a reservoir. No dogs. There are a few up-hills, but most of the route is fairly rolling. There is an option to leave after four miles. Proper hiking footwear with good traction is mandatory: no sneakers. Jeans are not great, as we'll be stretching and clambering, but not actually climbing. Hikers must bring water, snack, sunscreen, insect and tick repellent, personal medications and first-aid supplies. Parking is at approximately 328 East Plymouth Road, Terryville. There is a small off-road parking lot. So long as it's not overnight, parking is allowed on the wide shoulders of the road. No porta-potty, but there are plenty of trees at the trailhead.
