Description: All hikers must pre-register online. Meet at 8:45 for a prompt 9:00 start to this easy, loop hike of about 4.5 miles around Lake Chamberlain and out to Sperry Falls, a former mill site. Most of the hike is on Regional Water Authority land, so no dogs are allowed. Hiking poles are optional: the trails are fairly flat, but there are some rougher areas. Hikers must wear appropriate footwear with good traction: no sneakers. Hikers must carry water, a snack, personal medications and first-aid supplies. Don't forget to wear sunscreen and insect repellent. Parking is behind a locked gate, which will be open from 8:30-8:45. The gate will be locked while we are hiking. The address is 30 Sperry Road, Woodbridge, which is near the intersection of Sperry and Morris Roads on the Bethany/Woodbridge line. From this intersection, go onto the unpaved part of Sperry Road, and look for the parking lot a short distance down on the right. Sometimes people's navigational systems have brought them further down the unpaved road: you should be able to see the pavement from where your system brings you. There is a porta-potty near the trailhead: thus far, it's always been clean and well-stocked when I've used it. The end time is approximate.
