Description: Come join our Appalachian Mountain Club 20s & 30s community for a relaxed evening walk that combines two scenic preserves in East Haven along the Shoreline Greenway. We'll start with a short loop through a wooded preserve next to the former D.C. Moore School with views of the marshes. Then we'll do a short road stretch to the Farm River State Park trails, where we will loop around the peninsula and enjoy views of the river and more marshes.
New people are always welcome, but this is an especially good one for those new to the outdoors / beginner hikers. The total distance will be approximately 2.5 miles and there is minimal elevation change throughout the walk. We'll be sure to take some time to enjoy the viewpoints.
Registration is suggested, but not required. Registered participants will receive an email 1-3 days before with any final notes or weather notices. Unregistered participants will simply sign the AMC waiver at the trailhead. Would like to bring a well-behaved dog? Prefer there not to be a dog on the hike for any reason? Please register and coordinate with the leader in advance.
