Audience: Adults
Description: Continuing a series of mostly moderate hikes covering all of the CT AT (sections averaging 5-8 miles each), this approx. 7.5-8 mile hike will run between Rt. 341 in Kent and Bulls Bridge. Total elevation gain for the hike is approximately 1900 ft, including a steepish ascent in the beginning up Mt. Algo (summit 1139 ft.). The trail includes: moderately rugged, often rocky/rooted ups and downs through woodland forest; some lovely views of the Housatonic River; and a couple of stream crossings. Our pace will be an average 1.5 to 2mph, with at least two short breaks. Bring water and snacks/lunch. Poles can be helpful for steepish ascents/descents and seasonal water-crossing conditions at the streams. No dogs, please. REGISTRATION WILL BE LIMITED due to limited parking at both trailheads (car spotting is required.). High Temperatures and/or heavy rain cancels. Leader will provide more details and exact parking directions to registered hikers the day before the hike morning.
