Description: All hikers must pre-register online. No dogs. Meet at 8:45 for a prompt 9:00 start for this lollipop hike of roughly six miles along the southern terminus of the Tunxis Trail and part of the colonial-era King's Highway. We'll go around part of the scenic New Britain Reservoir. There are no scrambles or steep hills, but some of the hike is on eroded woods roads with uneven footing. The ending time is an estimate. Hikers must carry at least 32 oz. of water, a snack or light meal, personal medications and first-aid supplies. Remember sunscreen, and insect and tick repellent. Appropriate hiking footwear with good traction is mandatory: no sneakers. Poles are optional, but recommended if you use them. We will meet at the Wolcott Volunteer Ambulance company's parking lot: 1300 Woodtick Road, Wolcott. Park in the far, lower corner of the lot. Cars will be identified with passes, stating that we have permission to park here.
