Description: This ride starts at the Glastonbury landing of the oldest continuously operational ferry in the United States. The original ferry dates back to 1655, crossing the Connecticut River between Rocky Hill and Glastonbury. We will do a short ride along the Glastonbury shoreline before crossing the Connecticut River on the ferry. then we roll through the Meadows to cross the Putnam Bridge and back to Old Wethersfield. We'll stop for a coffee break before returning to the ferry.
This route includes dirt, gravel and paved surfaces. I was able to do it on a road bike but hybrids may be more appropriate. Bring $4 for the RT ferry ride.
Meet at the Glastonbury ferry parking lot, Ferry Lane, South Glastonbury CT.
