Description: All hikers must pre-register online. No dogs. Meet at 8:45 for a prompt 9:00 start for this out-and-back hike of 3.2 miles on the Tower Trail of Sleeping Giant. Weather permitting, we will have great views across Long Island Sound. This is a wide trail that is mostly dirt or gravel, but there are some exposed rocks and roots. At this time of the year, there is always a chance of frost in some areas. Hikers must wear appropriate hiking footwear with good traction: no sneakers. Hikers must carry sufficient water, a snack, personal medications and first-aid supplies. Remember insect and tick repellent, and sunscreen. Hunting is not allowed here, but wearing blaze orange doesn't hurt. The address is Sleeping Giant State Park, 200 Mount Carmel Avenue, Hamden. We will meet at the parking lot by the white bathrooms building: after entering the gate, continue straight ahead, around the loop, and past the pavilion to the lot.
