Paddling Turners Creek on Maryland’s Eastern Shore

Details
Come and join us on August 2nd as we paddle Turners Creek, a tributary to the Sassafras River on Maryland’s Eastern Shore. Turners Creek is most renowned for its incredible lotus flowers bloom during July and August each year, one just a few locations where you can experience lotus flowers across all of Chesapeake Bay’s tidal waters. After launching, we will soon be paddling alongside and through emergent lotus plants, surrounded by blooming flowers as we make our way along the creek.
Canoes, kayaks and standup paddle boards are the recommend watercraft for this paddling trip. We will be paddling on protected tidal waters with minimal tidal currents with total paddling of just over a mile.
This is a great trip for those with only limited paddling experience as well as long time paddlers.
Registration is required, sign up to participate in this paddling trip at https://activities.outdoors.org/s/oc-activity/a5UUN000000xm0b/act00012597.
