🍁 Sky Meadows Fall Foliage Hike + Festival- 20s to 40s

Let’s celebrate fall colors together! Join fellow AMC members and friends (ages 20s–40s) for a moderate hike through meadows and forested hills followed by time to enjoy the annual Fall Foliage Festival at Sky Meadows State Park.

🥾 The Hike

We’ll start the day with a 5–6 mile loop combining the Piedmont Overlook and North Ridge trails. Expect rolling terrain, sweeping mountain views, and vibrant autumn leaves.

Elevation gain: ~800 ft

Pace: steady/moderate

Duration: about 2.5–3 hours

After the hike, we’ll unwind at the festival—live music, wagon rides, and seasonal treats await!

Park entrance: $10 per vehicle (split with your carpool!)

Festival: Free admission

Water (at least 1L)

Packed lunch or snacks

Comfortable hiking shoes or boots

Layers (cool morning, warm afternoon)

Hat, sunscreen, and camera

Optional: picnic blanket or cash for treats

🚗 Carpooling

We’ll help coordinate carpools from DC & Northern VA. Please note your location when RSVPing so others can connect.
Parking can fill up—plan to arrive by 9:15 AM so we can start hiking at 9:30 AM sharp.
