8-day Grand Teton cycling adventure. We will cycle the paved bike trails and roads of Jackson Hole Valley in Wyoming to the east, over the majestic Teton Pass, to the bucolic Teton Valley in Idaho to the west. We will enjoy the Western mountain atmosphere of bustling Jackson Wyoming, where we will spend the first three nights. Our bike routes will take us through the breathtaking scenery of jagged mountain peaks, the lush valley floor, and alpine lakes. One of the days, we will have the opportunity to ride over the famed Teton Pass, from Wyoming to Idaho. With the optional benefit of an E-bike, participants may choose to experience this breathtaking mountain pass. We will ride 22.9 miles with 2387 ft elevation gain, rising to an elevation of 8435ft overlooking Jackson Hole to the east and Idaho to the west, and cruise down to our next lodging. The grade is between 11-13% in some parts. Victor, Idaho in Teton Valley will be our home base for the second half of the trip. Teton Valley encompasses 70 miles of gorgeous scenery along the western slopes of the Teton Range. The "Drictor loop", a 37 mile bike route, encompassing Victor and Driggs, Idaho, features the best roads on the outskirts of the valley, and is a local bike club favorite. The Ashton-Tetonia rail trail, 30 miles one-way, features 3 historic trestle bridges, eastern Idaho farm country, and unsurpassed views of the surrounding mountains. While in Idaho, we will enjoy many of the cultural offerings of the region. A popular outdoor music concert takes place each week in Victor, as well as a rodeo. We will have the opportunity to try single track mountain biking or cycling through more awe-inspiring valley scenery.
