Wachusett to West Concord Tour

Description: Join us for a tour from Wachusset MBTA back to West Concord via Princeton-Stirling-Lancaster-Harvard-Littleton-Acton with a finish on a stretch of the Bruce Freeman Rail Trail. We will use the MBTA to launch us from West Concord to the end of the line at the Wachusset station to keep our ride to a more moderate 44 miles. We will board the MBTA commuter rail in West Concord on the 0828 am train to Wachusset, climb to the visitor center on the east shoulder of Mt Wachusset (not the summit!) then return via the rolling hills of far metro west as we weave our way back to West Concord. We will have a few stops at town centers/stores to fill up on fluids in the town centers; riders should either carry a lunch or be prepared to buy it and carry it several miles to the lunch stop. Riders are expected to be capable of a 13 to 14 mph pace for this 44 miles hilly ride with 2622 ft of climbing and be able to self navigate via RWGPS and be able to handle minor mechanical issues such as a flat tire without assistance.
