Description: THIS IS A REVISION TO THE ORIGINAL POSTED RIDE. Join us for a wonderful bike tour from Arlington to historic Salem and back via mostly bike paths. We will meet at the Russell Commons lot in Arlington Center at 0930 then bike past Mystic Lakes onto the Winchester/Woburn/Stoneham tricommunity path nice roads in Wakefield to Salem. After having a snack, we will return via the Salem/Marblehead bike path then Swampscott to the and the marshes of Lynn, Saugus and Evererett via the Northern Strand Bike Trail. We will have a sumptuous lunch at the K Pub Kitchen and Bar just off the bike trail in Saugus that has a unique fusion Asian-American menu. This ride is moderate due to the distance but we will ride at a relaxed 12-14 mph moving pace. Bikers will be expected to be ready for paved to packed gravel surfaces. Bikes from road bikes (with good handling skills) to hybrids are fine. Bikers are expected to be able to handle minor repairs such as flat tires and have appropriate clothing/gear to handle early fall conditions and be able to carry extra clothing if the weather indicates it. Helmets required, Hi-Viz clothing and rear red Blinky lights highly recommended. Riders will self pay for parking in the Arlington lot and lunch Ride will run in event of mildly adverse weather. Sustained rain will cancel the ride. Link to the ride:https://ridewithgps.com/routes/52882097. Link to the lunch stop: https://kpubkitchenandbar.com/.
