Description: Put on your warm clothing and enjoy the AMC Boston END OF SEASON 14 mile bike ride, We will enjoy the crisp autumn air and beautiful sunny skies as we travel through Cambridge, Somerville, Medford, Winchester, and Arlington at a 11-13 mph pace for 14 miles with an elevation gain of 485'. We will be riding on bike paths and paved roads, most of which have designated bike lanes. Our pace will be dictated by by the numerous street crossings encountered on the bike paths but we will endeavor to maintain a consistent pace. Meet in the parking lot of the former Cambridge Matignon High School located at 1 Matignon Road, Cambridge. The ride begins along the Alewife and Mystic Parkways through Somerville and Medford into Winchester. We will return via the Mystic Valley Parkway and Minute Man bike path.
After the ride all participants are invited to join the END OF SEASON AFTER PARTY at Menotomy Tavern located at 25 Massachusetts Avenue, Arlington.
All participants MUST register on the AMC Outdoor Connector website (link provided below). We need an accurate head count for the after-party.
All participants MUST WEAR A HELMET. We suggest wearing warm clothing including gloves, warm socks, and warm jackets. Blinking lights on bicycles are encouraged.
Please arrive at 2:45 with a bike in good working order. We will depart at 3:00 sharp to ensure the ride ends before dark.
We expect a good size group for this ride. Therefore, we strongly urge all participants to download the route prior to the ride on Ride with GPS or whatever navigation device you use, to ensure no one gets lost.
