Description: History buffs and friends, please join us for a historical cycling adventure visiting three stops on the nineteenth-century stagecoach routes leading northwest from Worcester. This 26.7 mile route has 1760-ft of elevation gain and begins with a gradual ascent through the Tatnuck district followed by a steep climb past the Holden Reservoirs to Paxton, which we will take at a suitable pace to accommodate varying abilities. We'll cycle at elevation with some hilly terrain from Paxton to Rutland, then descend gradually along 122A through Holden and cruise back to Institute Park in Worcester. We will be cycling on a Sunday morning so we expect less traffic than normal on these routes, but please plan to wear reflective safety gear and helmets. Please bring lights on your bike if you have them. Please also remember to bring a spare tube and water. There will be an optional stop for brunch in Holden along our relaxing return to downtown Worcester.
