Evergreen Community Charter School, 50 Bell Road, Asheville, NC, USFriday, November 6th
Evening Dance Wave 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm | Warmup 7pm | Opening Circle 7:30pm
Facilitator DJ SeigeA (CJ O'Reilly)Intention: Ensemble: Within and Beyond...
Your first dance partner is yourself.
The second is the floor.
But between those two; an infinite array of partners:
your body - its joints, tendons, muscles...
your mind - its thoughts, memories, imaginings...And beyond that, the music... another dancer... Third... fourth.. beyond!
Start from that first... work with each partner... listen deeply, and find your way to an integrated ensemble.
## About DJ SeigeA (CJ O'Reilly)
CJ O'Reilly has been creating ecstatic dance waves for the Asheville community since 2014. Their eclectic mix of musical styles beckons dancers into new patterns of movement and expression through diverse time signatures and instrumentation, and a wide range of musical and emotive qualities. CJ's waves explore high peaks, beautiful vistas, juicy lowlands and the profound reflective stillness of tranquil water. Get Down in the Field- Ecstatic Dance Waves w/ Sara Bensman
Evergreen Community Charter School, 50 Bell Rd, Asheville, NC, USSunday, November 8th
1st Dance Wave 8:30-10:30am | Warmup 8:30am | Opening Circle 9am
2nd Dance Wave 10:30-12:30am | Warmup 10:30am | Opening Circle 11am
Facilitator Sara BensmanIntention: Get Down in the Field
There’s evidence that before humans could speak, we made music. Since we have walked the earth, we have likely danced. We dance together to share community, to alchemically transmute our internal experiences, to celebrate, to mourn, to communicate, and to simply enjoy the sensation of music moving through our bodies. In the sharing of this practice, we sometimes experience a deep connection to the room of dancers, even a sense of Oneness in which the tight hold that wraps around our individual ego begins to loosen and we feel the entirety of the Collective Field. We marvel at the variation of forms and unique movements that are aspects of the one great orchestration of the universe and recognize that I am that and that is me. This dance is an invitation to shift our internal lenses to the widest aperture and focus our awareness of the Collective Field.
## About Sara Bensman
Sara’s mix-making arises from musical exploration. She seeks to understand energy through somatic responses to sonic vibrations. Her facilitation is propelled by a desire to help build and sustain community by creating a safe, loving container for self-expression, connection and release. All of Me, Even This - Ecstatic Dance Wave w/ DJ Yaku Beat (Josh Courtney)
Evergreen Community Charter School, 50 Bell Road, Asheville, NC, USFriday, November 13th
Evening Dance Wave 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm | Warmup 7pm | Opening Circle 7:30pm
Guest DJ: DJ Yaku Beat (Josh Courtney), Support Facilitator: Rory JagdeoIntention: All of Me, Even This
This dance invites the radical celebration of being human. There are parts of ourselves that we repress due to shame, fear, and self-judgement. Tonight we embody those archetypes to allow them to express themselves fully and unapologetically. Be prepared to dance through a darker journey into the underworld before we come back to the light.
## About DJ Yaku Beat (Josh Courtney)
Yaku Beat channels the spirit of water - flowing, cleansing and alive. From a life in modern medicine and entrepreneurship to years on the sacred plant medicine path, Josh's evolution has spanned many worlds. Guided by an appetite for self-revelation, his beats and live instrumentation will invite you into the depths of your most wild and luminous heart.

RISE AND SET~ Anonymous
Sunrise, all so bright
A new start for my life
Fresh skin, new eyes
Awake beneath the endless skiesNature’s beauty, whisper of trees
A fleeting gift upon the breezeEnjoy it now, it won’t stay
There is sunset that always comes again
Light fades—darkness whispers its place
Symbol of decay comes every dayStill sunrise, no surprise
Leaving lessons deep inside
Remember—change to shineBut still, it sets again
Light fades and dawn returns again
The sun never stay the same## About Rory Jagdeo
