RESCHEDULED: MOHONK Birchen Path, The Crevice, Rock Rift

Strenuous. 7.5 miles . Rain, or drizzle, will cancel.
If you are not a member of the Mohonk Preserve, be prepared to pay a $15 day fee.
Meet at the Pine Road Parking Lot, Mohonk Preserve. (If full, you might need to go park earlier on Pine Road and walk a bit. I may also try to coordinate one car from a location nearby)

Please be at location by or before 9:30 am. Hiking will begin promptly.
We will walk on some paths and carriage roads, but the goal of this hike is to include many scrambles. 7.5 miles might be what Avenza tells me, but please realize this is more about terrain than distance.
HAVE THE AEROBIC ABILITY TO DO ONE SUSTAINED UPHILL.
Appropriate participants should consider themselves to be reasonably intrepid. (You will need to be possibly able to push yourself up with your arms over rock formations/have decent upper body strength, you'll want to have good balance and not have a large fear heights, you should be prepared for a few smallish dark places and feel comfortable climbing some ladders. While walking on level surfaces, we will maintain a moderate pace.
MUST: Bring 2 or more liters of water. Bring lunch and snacks Wear hiking boots with good grip.
Can/maybe want to bring poles but they should be able to collapse. Non-giant packs are best just because there are a few squeezes. There will be a few places where you'll need to take the pack off to fit through things, even with a smallish pack.
