Join AMC’s Concrete to Trails Bus Trips
Discover wild places just beyond the city limits—no Uber, Lyft or train ticket required! Appalachian Mountain Club’s Concrete to Trails program offers weekly Saturday bus trips from New York City to stunning natural areas that are typically hard to reach without a vehicle. Whether you're a seasoned hiker or simply seeking fresh air and new views, these outings make it easy to escape the pavement and step into nature.
This hike is an opportunity to bring your children. Please register everyone who will be hiking.
On this family friendly hike we will walk in the woods approximately 2.5 miles with 750 feet elevation gain during our four hour hike. We will have views over the Hudson River and the Bear Mountain Bridge to appreciate and we plan for frequent stopping. The activity is rated as easy per AMC activity guidelines and you do not need to have experience hiking to join the group. This route will be on uneven terrain of varying surfaces and we will be exposed to the Earth's elements. Please be prepared to spend our time outside while being active with intermittent breaks. We take one 'proper' break on the trip at approximately the mid-way point of our time together.
