We meet at the highest elevated train station in the world, where we begin our hike in one of Brooklyn's hottest neighborhoods. We will see among other things the historic Old Stone House, the location of the two Brooklyn Dodgers stadiums before they moved to Ebbets Field, art venues, the oldest retractile bridge in the U.S, and three separate huge sports venues for rock climbing, axe throwing and shuffleboard. For those with a sweet tooth, we pass Four and Twenty Blackbirds, great pie makers. Optional subway return home on the R train at Union Street station, or Atlantic Avenue Barclays Center for those who choose to go a bit further.

We will walk at a steady, moderate but not slow pace over a distance of around 4 miles, stopping at places of interest. There will be no lunch stop, so bring some snacks along if you wish. (This hike is intended for adults 18 years and older and please no dogs).

Precipitation or even questionable forecast may cancel, postpone or modify; check website for latest updates. We meet at 1:00 PM in front of Smith-9th Street Deli & Grocery in Brooklyn located at 3-5 9th Street. To get to the meeting spot, take the F subway line to Smith-9th Street.

You have an option of signing a paper liability waiver at the meeting place, but encouraged to do so online on the AMC website by clicking on link below:
