Moderate/Vigorous 10.5 Miles (several of which are on carriage roads and aren't challenging at all).

After reading this, Click on the link to the AMC Connector at the bottom, and read the more detailed description. Register, ask any questions and expect replies there, through the AMC site. The hike will be limited to 12 people.

Be prepared to pay $10 day fee per car at Minnewaska. (If you're 62+, it is free on weekdays with a NYS Driver's License.)

There is a possibility of a ride from Manhattan.

The hike will include Varied Terrains- Carriage Roads, Rocky waterfront surfaces, one not very long rock scramble (no ladders, tiny openings, tricky hand or foot hold finding--more like a small fraction of BreakNeck Ridge) and a downhill path at the end.

There should be fabulous views throughout the day.

Please bring:

  • Plenty of Water
  • Food (lunch/snacks)
  • Actual hiking boots on feet--not sneakers
  • Sunscreen/Bugspray
  • A hat
