Friday is again looking like a nice day for those who can attend. Dumbo's cobblestone streets and converted Brooklyn warehouses are the backdrop for trendy cultural venues as well as residences and cafes. On this urban hike we will make brief stops at some of the shops and galleries and see the neighborhood's historic buildings as well as scenic views of Manhattan and the surrounding area. Another treat is the Jacques Torres chocolate store near Pebble Beach, Jane's Carousel and the Empire Stores Marketplace all by the waterfront. A world-famous boxing gym we will visit is nearby as well. After spending some time in Vinegar Hill, we also have an opportunity to visit Wegmans, the iconic grocery store, and have an option to see the very interesting Brooklyn Navy Yard Museum for those who wish. We end at our starting point by the F train.

We will walk at a steady, moderate but not slow pace over a distance of around 4 miles, stopping at places of interest. There will be no lunch stop, so bring some snacks along if you wish. (This hike is intended for adults 18 years and older and please no dogs). Precipitation or even questionable forecast may cancel, postpone or modify; check website for latest updates. We meet at 1 PM at 108 Jay Street in front of the Wholesome Farms Market. To get there take the F train to York Street, the first stop in Brooklyn from Manhattan.

You have an option of signing a paper liability waiver at the meeting place, but encouraged to do so online on the AMC website by clicking on link below:
