Views, Trails & Fresh Air: Sloatsburg Train Station to Ramapo Torne Viewpoint

Join us for a beautiful Hudson Valley hike featuring scenic forest trails, panoramic viewpoints, and a visit to the newly renovated Reeves Meadow Visitor Center!
This is a public transportation-friendly adventure with no car required. We’ll meet in Sloatsburg and begin our hike from town, making this an easy getaway from NYC for a full day outdoors.
Our route will follow the Pine Meadow Trail and the 7 Hills Trail through the beautiful woodlands of Harriman State Park. Along the way, we’ll enjoy rolling terrain, rocky sections, peaceful forest scenery, and plenty of fresh air before reaching the stunning Ramapo Torne viewpoint.
At the overlook, we’ll take time to relax, enjoy a snack or lunch break, and soak in the views. On a clear day, we may even be able to spot the Manhattan skyline in the distance! We’ll also stop by the newly renovated Reeves Meadow Visitor Center, a great place to learn more about the park and local trails while enjoying the updated space.
### Hike Details
- Distance: 9 miles (roundtrip to/from Sloatsburg train station)
- Pace: Moderate, social pace
- Terrain: Rocky and uneven in sections with some elevation gain; Please note there is a short section that requires scrambling.
- Highlights: Ramapo Torne viewpoint, possible NYC skyline views (weather permitting), forest trails, and Reeves Meadow Visitor Center visit

### Please Bring
- 2 plus liters of water and lunch/snacks
- Hiking boots or sturdy trail shoes
- Trekking poles
- Sunscreen and bug spray
- Layers for changing weather
- Camera for the views
### Transportation Notes
- Public transportation-friendly trip via CoachUSA bus from Port Authority Bus Terminal in Manhattan.
- Exact public transportation and meeting details will be shared with registered participants before the hike
- Registered drivers will be emailed instructions on where to meet with the public transportation group.
