Plumb Beach Clean-up & Food Crawl In Little Odessa

Join NYC H2O in collaboration with the CCNY Outdoors Club and AMC NY-NoJ Outdoors for All Committee for a beach cleanup during the International Coastal Cleanup Day!
This is a 2-part event:
- Plumb Beach Cleanup (845 am- 12 pm) -- at 8:45 am we will be at 1424 Sheepshead Bay Road, Brooklyn, NY 11235 (right in front of the Bagels Road store)
- Little Odessa Food Crawl (115 pm- 4pm) -- at 1:15 pm we will meet at 215 Brighton Beach, Brooklyn, NY 11235 (right in front of Umi Sushi restaurant)

Plumb Beach is located in the Sheepshead Bay area of southeastern Brooklyn; it is part of the Jamaica Bay Unit and contains shoreline, tidal mudflats, salt marsh, dunes, and woodland thickets. It is a home and feeding ground for horseshoe crabs, migrating birds, fish, mussels, and many other coastal animals. Every bottle, plastic bag, and piece of trash we remove helps protect this special NYC habitat. This volunteer cleanup will last 2 hours and we will cover approximately 1 mile of sandy areas.
During the Food Crawl of Little Odessa, a neighborhood known for its large Russian-speaking and Eastern European community, we will cover a 1-mile radius and stop at a few eateries to discover the flavors of Eastern European countries.
ALLERGY NOTICE: Eat at your own risk, ask food establishments about all ingredients and how the food is prepared, and bring any necessary allergy medication with you.
We recommend wearing and bringing:
- sunblock
- hat (straw hat or cap)
- comfortable shoes to walk on sandy and concrete terrains
- 2L of water
- $10 - $30 (to spend during the food crawl)
