Description: Romer Falls & Quarry Loop | Buffam Brook Community Forest, Pelham, MA Join us for a 5-6-mile exploration of the Buffam Brook Community Forest in Pelham. We'll combine the Quarry Loop (approximately 2.5 miles) with the Romer Falls Trail (approximately 3 miles) for a scenic woodland adventure.
Our route winds through beautiful hardwood forests, past rocky outcroppings, along Buffam Brook, and by the remnants of an historic quarry. We'll also visit Romer Falls, a lovely spot tucked into the forest. Depending on recent rainfall, the brook and falls may be running low or nearly dry, but the surrounding landscape and geological features make this a rewarding destination in any season.
Expect a relaxed hike through varied woodland terrain, with opportunities to appreciate the area's natural features and local history.
Distance: Approximately 6 miles Elevation Gain: Approximately 650 feet Difficulty: Moderate What to Bring: Sturdy hiking boots, water, snacks, weather-appropriate layers, and hiking poles if desired. Come explore one of Pelham's beautiful woodland trail networks with your fellow AMC hikers!
