Discover wild places just beyond the city limits—no Uber, Lyft or train ticket required! AMC’s Concrete to Trails program offers weekly Saturday bus trips from New York City to stunning natural areas that are typically hard to reach without a vehicle. Whether you're a seasoned hiker or simply seeking fresh air and new views, these outings make it easy to escape the pavement and step into nature.

Croton Gorge Park Waterfall Hike
This bucolic park is the start of the Croton River and the Old Croton Aqueduct Trail. It's a great walk in the woods for folks just starting their outdoor journey or who just need to disconnect.

Our gently paced 4 to 5-mile hike will commence with a view of the impressive Croton Dam and spillway. You can feel its impressive force from the viewing bridge. Expect hard-packed dirt paths and some uneven terrain with gentle hills but no significant elevation gain. We will proceed at a steady pace of approximately 2 mph. We’ll stop for lunch in the park and take breaks along the way to soak in the scenery.
