Looking to deepen your connection with the outdoors—right here in NYC!
Join the Appalachian Mountain Club this National Wellness Month for restorative walks and journaling experiences in parks throughout New York City.
Today, to conclude our journey through Wellness Month, we will immerse ourselves in Soundview Park in the Bronx. We’ll begin at the park entrance on the corner of Morrison Ave and Lafayette Ave easing into a mindful nature-bathing experience as we take in the park’s natural beauty. From there, we’ll stroll at a relaxed pace around Soundview Park, before settling in by the Butterfly Mediation Garden for a peaceful journaling workshop.
Journaling prompts will be provided to help guide your reflections, but you're welcome to write or draw freely—whatever speaks to you in the moment. The focus of this walk is to slow down, recharge, and reconnect with yourself through nature and self-expression.
We’ll wrap up back at the park entrance on the corner of Morrison Ave and Lafayette Ave, leaving you grounded, inspired, and refreshed.
Bring water, weather-appropriate clothes, a journal / notebook, writing or drawing utensils, sturdy footwear, and a positive attitude! No dogs allowed on this hike.
If weather forces cancellation, we'll post an update at least 2 hours in advance.
Questions or running late? Call/text Sofia at 973-424-7282.
