_____________________________________________
Our skiing members have spoken, and we hear you! We know it's really difficult to get up north to where the good snow is, especially for those of us who live in the city and don't own a car.

So we're offering a special event for winter enthusiasts: An outing with low cost Concrete to Trails bus transportation to NY State's Adirondack Park for a weekend of winter adventure on skis, snowboards or snowshoes. Winter sports fans of all levels are welcome, from beginners to experts!

We'll be providing bus transportation to Gore Mountain and Garnet Hill for downhill skiing, cross country skiing, and snowshoeing. For those of you with alpine touring or splitboard rigs, we'll be offering our very first Resort-To-Backcountry Ski Clinic.

ACTIVITIES:

DOWNHILL SKIING:
Gore Mountain is a premier alpine ski resort with a wide variety of exciting trails for all levels from Novice to Advanced, including the notorious double-black duo of "The Rumor" and "Lies." Gore's glades are some of the best around. Or you can take a long, leisurely ride down the blue cruisers "Cloud" and "Headwaters." There is an attractive selection of green trails for novices and beginners. Gore is the largest ski resort in New York, and one of the best in the East. There are three warm lodges with food service and amenities. Lessons and rentals are available (extra-cost option).

CROSS COUNTRY SKIING:
Garnet Hill is an excellent Nordic center with first-rate grooming and a varied trail network. Garnet Hill borders on the Siamese Ponds Wilderness Area, which is famous for its Nordic backcountry ski trails. That's perfect for an advanced cross country skier to try out Nordic backcountry skiing (cross country skiing on ungroomed trails in the backcountry). Lessons and rentals are available (extra-cost option).

SNOWSHOEING:
Garnet Hill also has a network of snowshoe trails. The center offers guided tours and snowshoe rentals.

BACKCOUNTRY SKIING:
New for 2025-26, the North Creek Ski Bowl (a.k.a. Little Gore) is offering two Uphill Skiing routes for 'skinning up' on your skis or splitboard, *free of charge*. If you own your own alpine touring or splitboard setups with climbing skins, we can practice our backcountry touring skills at the Ski Bowl. If conditions are good, we may be able to ski a historic down-mountain ski trail starting near the Garnet Hill Cross Country Ski Center going all the way down to the North Creek Ski Bowl. This ski tour is rated 'intermediate' and is intended for experienced and fully equipped backcountry skiers or splitboarders only. Please note that there are no alpine touring or splitboard rentals available. You will need to bring your own setup for these activities.

LODGING:
Lodging is at North Acres Farm. To keep costs low, we are sharing rooms, so your flexibility is appreciated. It is located conveniently on the extensive Garnet Hill Cross Country Ski and Snowshoe trail system. Only 10 spots are available, so register soon!

TRANSPORTATION:
For non-drivers, a convenient AMC Concrete to Trails bus will take participants from NYC's George Washington Bridge Bus Station, leaving Friday at 3:00 PM. The bus will be available to take us to the Gore Ski Resort and Garnet Hill Outdoor Center. The bus will return to NYC on Sunday aiming for 8:00 PM.
