American Revolution: Birth of a New Society

Details
In this workshop we will continue our discussion of how the American Revolution dramatically changed the structure of colonial society from one of monarchy, hierarchy and patronage to equality and democracy. We will also begin exploring America's unique "civic religion," that is, those principles that bind us together as a people. We will start with two of Lincoln's speeches: The Gettysburg Address and his Second Inaugural Address.
Please join us! All are welcome.
Here's a link to Gordon Wood's book. We will be finishing the book, but just read as much as you can.
