What we’re about
Have you walked the Camino de Santiago or are you interested in learning more about it? Then this is the group for you!
Come join us for hikes, gatherings, dinner parties, and other events where you can meet past and future pilgrims! Share your Camino experiences, get tips from those that have walked before, and help bring the magic of the Camino to Philadelphia!
This meetup group is hosted by the Philadelphia Chapter of American Pilgrims on the Camino (APOC). APOC is a national non-profit organization dedicated to fostering the enduring tradition of the Camino by supporting its infrastructure, by gathering pilgrims together, and by providing information and encouragement to past and future pilgrims.

See all- 7 Miles on the D&L Trail to and from Jim ThorpeLehigh Canal Park , Lehighton, PA
The Delaware & Lehigh (D&L) Trail is a rails-to-trails project that runs for 165 miles (some portions are still under construction). It starts in White Haven in the Poconos and ends in Bristol on the Delaware River just north of Philadelphia. It passes through or very close to a number of cities and towns, historic sights, waterfalls and other natural wonders. One of the nicest sections is the 3.6 mile walk from Weissport to Jim Thorpe, a town that somehow manages to retain its quirky natural charm despite being a tourism hub.
We will start at the Lehigh Canal - Weissport Trailhead and walk north into Jim Thorpe. Deviating a bit from our normal routine, we will have lunch in Jim Thorpe (and maybe a little walk around town) before finishing the walk by heading back to Weissport. The trail is flat and mostly gravel, and there are several opportunities to detour slightly into the woods to walk alongside the rail-trail. Depending on when the leaves turn, there's even the possibility that we'll see some fall foliage.
There are bathrooms at the trailhead and in Jim Thorpe.
Lehigh Canal Weissport Trail Head Address is 46 Canal St, Lehighton, PA 18235 HOWEVER, THE PARKING LOT ENTRANCE IS OFF OF BRIDGE STREET, NOT CANAL STREET, AND EASY TO MISS -- SEE PICTURE. From Conshohocken, it is an approximately 1 hour drive up the northeast extension.
