What we’re about
A museum that inspires students to write! The American Writers Museum Education Department offers a wide variety of programming and field trip opportunities. As a teacher, you can attend any of the Museum’s author talks or lectures and count it as professional development. Teachers also receive $5 off museum admission.
The American Writers Museum is a unique museum, being the first and only national museum honoring American writers and their work, with interactive exhibits and programs that celebrate the past, promote the present and inspire the future of writing in the United States. The museum features more than 400 years of American writing history, vintage typewriters, Word Waterfall, word games, and a Surprise Bookshelf that includes sounds, smells, videos and dioramas.
