Retiring Address by AU Triad Chapter President, Charlie Wilson

Details
Our last AU chapter program of this season will be on Thursday, May 26 at 7:00 pm. I requested to be the speaker for this program, because at the end of this season I will be retiring as the president of the NC Triad Chapter of Americans United. According to my records I became the president in 2011, and during this time I have been able to expand my knowledge of the separation of church and state and to enjoy the company of new friends.
There are several issues I would like to cover in a presentation that would include reflections on important events related to our chapter, the change of leadership of the national organization from The Reverend Barry Lynn to Ms. Rachel Laser, my perception of subtle changes in the mission of national AU, the continued national importance of Americans United, and my personal hopes related to the mission of Americans United.
We will continue having virtual meetings, because COVID is still very much with us. Even with a virtual meeting all are invited to attend and participate in the discussion.
The meeting will be held on Thursday, May 26th, 2022, 7PM on Zoom. The link will be visible when you RSVP. Please feel free to share this notice with anyone you think might be interested. The Zoom meeting is public and open to all.
Upcoming events and programs that may be of interest to our members:
There are a variety of virtual meetings from other AU chapters that can be found here.
Our chapter will be participating in Winston-Salem's Pride Festival on Saturday, June 18th. More information on volunteer opportunities will be coming soon.
