Ghent - Amigos Day Trip from Antwerp - Boat tour, bites & pub crawl
Details
# Amigos Day Trip: Ghent by Boat & by Bar πβ΅π»
Ghent is only an hour from Antwerp, and on Saturday we're going together. We'll see the city from the water, grab dinner and then do a small pub crawl through some of Ghent's most legendary bars. Come alone, leave with amigos.
NOTE: Some of us will make a night out of it - but if you feel going home earlier or with the last train - I am sure some other amigos are in for it.

## π Meeting point
**Saturday 7 November, 14:50**
Antwerpen-Centraal, main hall under the big clock
We take the **IC train at 15:06** (towards Oostende, usually from platform 4; check the board) and get off at Gent-Dampoort at 15:58.
From there it's a short walk into the old town.
Please buy your own train ticket in the SNCB app or at the station before we leave.
## πΊοΈ The plan
**β΅ Boat tour (if still sailing).**
About 40 minutes on the canals, past the Graslei, Korenlei, the Castle of the Counts and the three towers. Around β¬11 per person, paid on the spot. Boats run on winter hours in November, so if we miss the last one we'll do the same route on foot instead.
**π½οΈ Dinner.** We'll grab something to eat together in the centre. Nothing fancy: good food and a good table.
**π» Pub crawl:**
1. **Dulle Griet:** a Ghent institution with hundreds of beers and a famous ritual: order the "Max" and you trade one of your shoes for it. Yes, really.
2. **CafΓ© Folklore:** a cosy old brown cafΓ©, one of the oldest in town.
3. **Irish pub:** pints and karaoke. Bring your best song (or just cheer for everyone else).
4. **Publika:** our last stop, right by the Belfry. Later in the night it turns into a lively dancefloor.
## π End
Open end. Some of us will make a long night of it, but you can head home whenever it suits you. Trains back to Antwerp run until late; check the SNCB app for the last one.
## π‘ Good to know
- The event is free. Everyone pays their own train ticket, boat ticket, food and drinks.
- Wear comfy shoes (and clean socks, because of Dulle Griet π) and bring a warm jacket for the boat.
- Respect "no", drinks included. Everyone decides for themselves what they drink and how long they stay.
**Explore and learn together, have nice drinks and just good fun.** See you on Saturday, amigos!
