Join Amnesty Reading for Action Book Club for a quiet, shared walk in nature - a moment to slow our pace, listen deeply and be together. Guided by the theme “Resilience in the Face of Change,” for this gathering there will be no assigned reading; instead we invite you to bring an audiobook, podcast or song that will help you think about how people and communities endure, adapt and care for one another.

You might choose an audiobook about people organising against extractive industries, a podcast on workers striking for their rights, or music rooted in community care and collective power. However you connect to resilience, we welcome you to bring your headphones, press play and walk with us.

We’ll meet at Wanlong MRT Station and begin with a silent walk toward the Treetop Trail in Wenshan Forest Park 文山森林公園樹梢步道. Walking side by side while listening to our chosen audio, we’ll spend around 45 minutes moving gently through the green space around us. Afterwards, we’ll gather at Wenshan Jingmei Sports Park 文山景美運動公園 settling into a picnic, for sharing our reflections of what we listened to on resilience.

We recommend wearing comfortable shoes and bringing a water bottle. If you have one, feel free to bring a picnic mat (no stress if you don’t, we will have some to share), any snacks you’d like to contribute, and of course your headphones!

If you have access needs or questions about the walking route, feel free to reach out.
