Amnesty Book Club: Rose Garden Nature Audio Walk
Details
Join Amnesty Reading for Action Book Club for a shared walk - a moment to slow our pace, listen deeply and be together. Guided by the theme “Protecting Hope in Fearful Times”, for this gathering there will be no assigned reading; instead we invite you to bring an audiobook, podcast or song that will help you think about how people nurture a sense of hope and beauty despite the difficult circumstances we find ourselves in.
You might choose an audiobook about cultivating mindfulness, a podcast about how past struggles became successful, or a playlist of upbeat music. However you connect to resilience, we welcome you to bring your headphones, press play and walk with us.
We’ll meet at Yuanshan MRT station and begin with a silent walk toward the Taipei Rose Garden. Walking side by side while listening to our chosen audio, we’ll spend around 45 minutes moving gently through the urban space around us. Afterwards, we’ll gather near the Garden Maze, settling into a picnic, for sharing our reflections of what we listened to on resilience.
We recommend wearing comfortable shoes and bringing a water bottle. If you have one, feel free to bring a picnic mat (no stress if you don’t, we will have some to share), any snacks you’d like to contribute, and of course your headphones!
If you have access needs or questions about the walking route, feel free to reach out.
