Most teams use user stories to organize work. They are simple, familiar, and useful—but they quietly leave out critical elements that determine whether real value is created. In this webinar, we begin not by rejecting user stories, but by improving them. We’ll examine what traditional user stories omit: broader stakeholder perspectives, context, constraints, explicit success criteria, and the downstream impact of what is built. From there, we’ll introduce Objective Stories, a value-driven alternative that reframes work around stakeholder objectives rather than isolated capabilities.
By shifting from “what feature does a user want?” to “what objective is a stakeholder trying to achieve—and under what conditions?”, teams can dramatically reduce rework, improve alignment, and make better trade-off decisions. This session explores how attending to stakeholders instead of just users, making context explicit, and recognizing that every solution is a means toward someone else’s end fundamentally changes how we define and deliver value.
