Konnichiwa, mina-san!

It's already the month we prepare for Ohanami again! We have regular meetups and Ohanami on the last few weekends so that we won't miss the trees' full blossoming.

Our schedule for March is:

Week 1, Sunday the 2nd (host: Justyna)
Week 2 Saturday the 8th (host: Evgeniia)
Week 3, Sunday the 16th (host: Nikola)
Week 4, Sunday the 23rd, Hanami Walk Vol. 1 (host: Nikola and Maryam)
Week 5, Saturday the 29th, Hanami Walk Vol. 2 (host: Niels and Asami)

Note 1:
The Hanami Walk events will be held at Bloesempark in Amsterdamse Bos. We'll meet at Cobra and then walk to Bloesempark. If you want to join us at the park, please ask us about our current location via the event page or DM.

Note 2: There are regulations on the use of Bloesempark. Please check the website.
https://www.amsterdamsebos.nl/bloesempark/

Note 3:
Please stay tuned for the Hanami events, whether they're happening or not, until the very date. If the weather is not good enough or the trees don't bloom enough, the Hanami events can be cancelled or replaced by the regular Taalclub event at Museum Cobra with a smaller attendee limit. In that case, we need you to send a new RSVP for the replacement event.

We're looking forward to seeing you doing Japanese practice together!

Best,
Goro, the organiser

[The Introduction from Goro (April 2024)]

I am glad to renew our regular Saturday event, Japanse Taalclub in Amstelveen, this April. I've been doing this weekly social meetup since 2021. From a small group of a few people, we kept growing and recently have more than 15 people every week, thanks to the loyal regulars and the help of Cobra Museum Cafe.

It's time for us to move on to the new phase. As the founder and the only organiser, Goro will leave Amstelveen; we formed a new organisers team to keep the wonderful community alive as it has been. We'll keep the event happening every week. Instead of Goro, each new organiser will take on the host role. They'll offer more activities and games than the previous single-host events, which may be one advantage of the new operation.

Our meetup events also attract Japanese native speakers, especially new residents in the country. Even first-timer Japanese attendees feel safer and more comfortable in the friendly atmosphere and would be happy to help you improve your Japanese skills. There's no requirement for Japanese skills to join us. Drop in and say hi (Konnichiwa!, if possible). Everyone who finds those below familiar is welcome:

— I want to learn Japanese at any level.
— I am thinking of visiting Japan sometime. I'm Interested in the cultures.
— I want to see new people with similar interests.
— I want to share my experiences in Japan.
— I want to try to speak Japanese to native speakers.

We're looking forward to seeing you in Amstelveen. :)

Best,
Goro, the founder organiser.
