IMPERFECT — A Creative Experiment in Letting Go
Details
Hi everyone!
What happens when you stop trying to get things right?
Join me for IMPERFECT, a playful, hands-on creative experience in Amsterdam. We'll make art, connect with others, and explore what happens when we let go of perfectionism, control, and expectations.
No artistic experience needed!
This isn't about making beautiful art. It's about experimenting, being surprised, and noticing our own patterns in a relaxed, welcoming environment.
## What to bring
Please bring three small items to use in your creation:
- Something old — a piece of fabric, an old button, or something from home.
- Something new — a small, new object or material.
- Something found — a small piece of wood, plastic, or another interesting object you've discovered.
Additional creative materials and tools will be available at the event.
## The experience
We'll start creating freely, without instructions or examples to copy.
Then comes the SURPRISE MOMENT — THE SWITCH!
You'll pass your creation to someone else, who can change it, transform it, or take it in a completely unexpected direction. We'll repeat the process and explore what happens when we release ownership and welcome other perspectives.
## The philosophy
The interesting part of IMPERFECT is noticing how we react when things don't go as planned.
We explore patterns such as perfectionism, comparison, self-criticism, control, attachment, trust, and letting go.
Through creating, sharing, and transforming each other's work, we discover how these patterns can show up in our everyday lives, relationships, and at work.
There is no right or wrong, and no judgement. Just curiosity, reflection, and an opportunity to become more aware of ourselves and how we interact with others.
The aim isn't to eliminate these patterns, but to recognise them and gain more freedom in how we respond.
## About me
I'm Monika Zampa, an artist and creative facilitator. My approach is experiential rather than instructional: I create the space for people to try something, experience what happens, and become curious about themselves and others.
