What we’re about

What we do?
We run peer-support groups for people living with Body-Focused Repetitive Behaviour Disorders (BFRBs) such as trichotillomania (hair pulling), excoriation disorder (skin picking or dermatillomania), or onychophagia (nail biting). The support groups are in English (for now).

Who facilitates the groups?
The groups are facilitated by Caroline Harbison, a committee member of the charitable organisation BFRB UK & Ireland, with whom she has helped facilitate support groups since 2021. She has had hair pulling disorder herself since she was a young child.

The purposes of these groups is to give and receive support for our BFRBs by sharing our experiences. Support groups are not a replacement for therapy and we cannot offer advice on medication, as the peer-support facilitator(s) are not medically trained. If you would like advice on treatment, please see your huisarts.
