Amsterdam Chess Meetup

We're continuing our online chess sessions with a relaxed group chess night.
The first 30 minutes will be very beginner-friendly. We'll start with simple puzzles, including mate in 1 positions, and talk through the basic ideas together. Stronger players are welcome from the start too, but if that sounds too easy, feel free to join a bit later.
After the beginner warm-up, we'll mix a few activities:

• Puzzle Rush Survival, with increasing difficulty
• playing a game together as a team
• reading a part of a chess book and discussing the ideas
• talking through mistakes, plans and funny moments as they come up

You don't need to be strong at chess to join. You can think out loud, ask questions, suggest moves, or just listen and follow along.
The goal is simple: learn a bit, play a bit, and enjoy chess together without pressure.

Second Saturday of every month is a great time to join us for a game of chess at Laurierboom, Amsterdam’s local chess café.

All levels are very welcome, we usually play 5+0 blitz, but any other time control or none at all is also possible, and even bughouse if you're up for it.

The event is free. Laurierboom will open doors earlier than usual, especially for us, so we have plenty of time and room to play.
