Story Slam Amsterdam
EVERYONE HAS A STORY TO TELL. The goal of these events is to create a welcoming community where everyone is encouraged to share their stories, thus creating connections with those who listen, in an environment free of prejudice.
The evening
The evening will start with a meet and greet. Food will also be served as per wish (see below for more details).
Then, it is is writing time. We will start the clock and you will have 20 minutes to write/finalize the story around the theme of the night.
-> Theme of the night is corners of Amsterdam
FInally, who wants will stand in front of the audience to share his true and personal story, anecdote or tale (always true, not fictional). If you don't want to tell your story, just enjoy listening. Prepare to be inspired, moved, entertained by these impromptu narrators.
Each story must follow a few rules: it must be true, autobiographical, cannot be read and must be told in 5 minutes maximum. At the end of the evening the audience will vote for their favorite story.

PLEASE NOTE THESE GROUP RULES:
No-shows who do not reach out to us will be removed from the group (one strike you're out). We get that things come up, so if you have a slot and you can't make it last minute, please REACH OUT TO US via message instead of just not showing up with no communication.
If you have a slot and can't come, please CANCEL THE DAY BEFORE so that people from the wait list have time to plan to come. We understand that sometimes things happen last minute and you can't attend, but please try to cancel early, and reach out to us via message if you can't come last minute.
If you're on the waitlist, please don't show up anyway. It's often hard on the restaurant to have extra people, hard on us as organizers to make it welcoming to everyone with the space available, and it means the restaurant might not let us come back next time. If you'd like to try your luck that there's a late cancellation, reach out to us first via message and we can let you know if you can come!
These guidelines helps us make our meetups fun and accessible to all, so thank you for understanding! ;o)
